Canvas and Carats: art and fine jewellery.

On 23 July 8Bā Gallery held a gala evening to close Oksana Vildanova’s solo exhibition. The project Canvas and Carats: The Collector’s Edition brought painting and Gemma Fine Jewellery into one room.

Two crafts in one room

Painting works with image, colour and space. Jewellery works with material, light and the precision of a detail. Side by side they complement each other, and the result is a single statement: aesthetics, craftsmanship and collectable value in one.

The guests

The guests set the tone: collectors, people who follow art and people from the creative scene. The closing became a reason to look at the works once more, exchange impressions and talk about how art is tied to the people who collect it.

What stays

The value of a work is not set by technique and material alone. It is made of the idea, the author’s point of view and the feeling that stays with the viewer afterwards.
