Hidden Oasis: the road to silence.

On 21 March 2026 we hiked to Hidden Oasis, a hidden oasis in the mountains of Wadi Shehah in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

Stone and silence

The route runs through a harsh, rocky landscape with almost none of the usual city sounds and landmarks. The scale of the mountains, the open space and a silence that is hard to find in everyday life are all felt here more than anywhere.

The road as part of the experience

The way to the oasis takes attention and physical effort, and that effort becomes part of the experience. The usual rhythm gives way to moving forward, watching the landscape and paying attention to the present moment.

The oasis

At the end of the trail, greenery and palms appear among the rocks. The contrast between the dry mountains and the living oasis makes the place special. It feels like a small reward for the distance covered.

What stays

Hidden Oasis is a reminder that the strongest impressions often lie away from the obvious routes. Sometimes a road, mountain silence and a few hours alone with nature are enough to reset.
